Why SEO Friendly Content Can Grow Your Business

Why SEO Friendly Content Can Grow Your Business

Nobody likes advertising. Except when it comes to Super Bowl time. Then everybody loves ads.

But most of the time, the people of the internet aren't paying attention to ads.

And with the advent of the "Skip This Ad" button on platforms like YouTube, audiences no longer have to sit through ads to see their video.

So, traditional marketing is slowly dying.

What is rising from the ashes?

The metaphorical Pheonix of the digital age is content.

You've heard it said that "Content is King." It's a cliche in the online marketing world now. And we're all tired of hearing about it.

So, we want to go deeper. We're going to say that SEO friendly content is champion.

But first, let's look at why SEO friendly content is SEO friendly.

1. What Is SEO Friendly Content?

Content is easy, right?

Pick a topic, write a few thousand words. You have content!

But what is SEO content?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization.

It's the process by which a website can optimize toward searchability on Google or Bing.

Content, as you probably already know, is any accessible information on the web. Text and video alike.

So, mash those two concepts together and you have SEO content.

Content designed to help a website attract search engine traffic.

So the benefit is already apparent. If done right, SEO friendly content will make your website more profitable on the web.

In fact, there are 3.5 billion searches per day.

Right now it's 6PM on the West Coast, and the Google search counter for today is at 3.9 billion searches and still going.

On average Google gets 1.2 trillion search queries a year worldwide.

Even if you can attract a fraction of that traffic, you're doing pretty good.

2. What Does The Process Of Creating SEO Friendly Content Look Like?

We could write pages about the process of creating SEO friendly content. There are thousands upon thousands of articles about this process and other SEO processes out there.

But we just want to give you a glimpse into the process here.

Keyword Research

A long time ago in internet history, people used to use keywords as spam.

And then came along the Google updates. Actually, Google updates began to happen pretty much as soon as the service came online.

But updates that targeted keyword spam didn't appear till later.

While keywords have taken more of a backseat than in the early days of Search Engines. They are still important.

They still convey some signals to Google, and they are useful for unifying your content under one theme.

And Google does try to figure out what your company actually does through keywords.

So, you need to have keywords ready to go. Which means doing a little bit of research.

Appropriate Keyword Usage

Keywords should only make up 1-3% of your content. Anything more than that -- well, you're getting close to keyword stuffing.

And you must know where to use the keywords. Headers? Body? Tags?

Organize Your Content For SEO

Logic is the way. If it's all over the place and skips topics constantly, Google will downrank it.

Consistent content is SEO friendly.

Plus, if your content follows a logical flow, then people are more likely to finish reading.

SEO Friendly Content Is Well Promoted

When creating SEO friendly content, it's wise to promote it. The more links to your content you have, the more SEO friendly it will be.

Invite other businesses and bloggers to build links to your content. This is why content is king. It needs to be shareable and linkable. And thin content is neither of these things.

How Can Your Business Benefit From SEO Friendly Content?

Great! You say, now I know what SEO friendly content is.

But how can it benefit me and my business?

1. You Will Understand Your Customer Base Better

You may know a lot about your business and niche. But do you know your customer base?

A big part of keyword research has to do with understanding user intent.

You have to understand how users search for you and find you.

It's essentially a window into how people think about your niche and your product.

You'll see the questions they want answered. (Hint: creating an SEO optimized FAQ page is a great way to catch the questioners!)

It's like mind-reading but much less invasive and creepy.

2. You Will Have Quality Content And Gain A Following

If your customers know you provide quality information, they always come to your page for advice.

Even when we search for things on Google, we have a list in the backs of our minds of websites with authority.

And that's what great content does for your business. It gives you authority in the online world.

And that's really Google's goal. Their goal is to give the user a quality experience. They want to connect the user with the best information they can.

And optimizing your content for this goal, aligning you company with this goal, will ultimately benefit you.

3. Reduce Your Advertising Budget

As we said at the beginning of this article, people don't like advertising.

While some advertising is good. And paying for traffic is a way to bring more revenue. You probably are looking for the least expensive ways to expand your audience.

SEO content is one of the cheapest ways to do this. In fact, if you do all the SEO work yourself, it's pretty much free.

Your content is your advertising. And Google is essentially a free advertising platform.

It's the billboard on the street. But it features a teleport machine and it's free to you if you want to put in the work.

4. It Builds Your Network And Your Relationships

Lastly, making your content SEO friendly, if done right, will expand your network.

Attaining backlinks sometimes requires reaching out to other websites and forming relationships.

Conclusion:

While SEO shouldn't be the only reason you create quality content, it is a good motivator.  And the side effects of optimizing your content to be SEO friendly are more than worth it.
